TCPA Consent, Privacy & SMS Communication Policy

This policy explains how Journey Palliative and Hospice (“we,” “us,” or “our”) may contact you by phone, text message (SMS), or email when you reach out to us, become a patient or family member in our care, or otherwise share your contact information with us. Please read it before submitting your information through our website, intake forms, or other channels. If anything here is unclear, you can reach our team directly at (818) 748-3427.

When You Give Us Your Phone Number or Email

By providing your phone number, email address, or both to Journey Palliative and Hospice (whether through our website, by phone, in person, or as part of our admissions process), you consent to receive communications from us related to:

  • Your inquiry about our services
  • The admission and ongoing care of yourself or a loved one
  • Care coordination, visit scheduling, and medication or equipment delivery
  • Bereavement support and grief resources
  • Patient and family satisfaction surveys and invitations to leave a review
  • Important updates about our services, hours, or contact information
  • General information about hospice and palliative care

This communication may include phone calls and text messages from our care team, intake coordinators, administrative staff, or our authorized communication platform (NurtureHub).

How We May Contact You

We may contact you using any combination of the following:

  • Automated dialing systems and pre-recorded or artificial voice messages, where permitted by law

You agree that we may contact you at any phone number or email address you provide, including a wireless phone number.

Text Message (SMS) Consent

If you provide a mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Journey Palliative and Hospice related to the purposes described above. Text messages are sent through NurtureHub, our communication and lead management platform. Message frequency varies based on your relationship with us. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Journey Palliative and Hospice does not charge a fee to send or receive text messages.

How to Stop or Pause Text Messages

You may opt out of our text messages at any time:

  • Reply STOP to any text message from us to unsubscribe.
  • Reply HELP to any text message for assistance.
  • Call us at (818) 748-3427 to update your communication preferences directly.

After replying STOP, you’ll receive one confirmation message and no further text messages from that program unless you re-subscribe.

Privacy and HIPAA

Journey Palliative and Hospice is a healthcare provider and complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We will limit any protected health information shared by text or email to what is reasonably necessary for your care or follow-up. For sensitive medical details, we recommend communicating by phone or in person rather than text or email.

By providing your contact information, you acknowledge that text and email are not fully secure channels and may be visible to anyone with access to your device. You can ask us to communicate by phone only at any time.

Your Confirmations

By providing your contact information, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The phone number(s) and email address(es) you provided belong to you, or you have authorization from the account holder to share them.
  • You will let us know promptly if your phone number or email changes or is no longer in use.

Recording and Monitoring

We may record or monitor phone calls between you and our team for quality assurance, staff training, and care coordination purposes, as permitted by applicable law. By calling us or accepting our calls, you consent to this recording and monitoring.

Withdrawing Your Consent

You may withdraw your consent to receive communications from us at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to a text message
  • Calling (818) 748-3427

Withdrawing consent will not affect the care of a patient currently in our service. It may limit how we can reach you for non-care matters like surveys, review invitations, or general updates.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued communication with us after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
